ABOUT TiQ

Theater in Quarantine (TiQ) is an Obie and Drama League Award–winning hybrid performance laboratory founded in 2020 by Joshua William Gelb from an 8 sq. foot closet in the East Village. TiQ creates work for both in-person and remote audiences, embracing constraint, foregrounding process, and broadening access to viewers everywhere.

During its pandemic season, TiQ was led by Gelb and Co-Creative Director Katie Rose McLaughlin, collaborating with over one hundred artists and reaching audiences around the globe. This pandemic archive was later acquired by the Library of Congress for its COVID-19 Response Collection.

Today, its work spans digital and hybrid productions, from live-streaming to touring — with projects presented by Under the Radar, NYU Skirball, and more.

The 7th Voyage of Egon Tichy recently finished it's run at NCState Live and continues to tour, with additional dates to be announced — for booking inquiries, please get in touch.

This site now hosts the newly released Phantom of the Opera interactive archive, allowing audiences to watch the performance as originally intended, with a real-time backstage toggle.
